Emergency Services
Caritas helps anyone who has emergency needs regardless of age, sex or ethnicity. The majority of recipients are residents of McLennan County although there are no geographical limits to receiving services from Caritas. All recipients are interviewed to determine their needs. 
Assistance provided in the form of:
  • Food
  • Clothing 
  • Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP)-Senior Box, 60 yrs.+
  • Household Items
  • Utilities
  • Prescription medications
  • Rent and Mortgage
  • Transportation assistance
Documents Needed for First-Time Clients:
Picture ID
Proof of Address- bill with current address
Under 18 yrs. old household members- school record, shots, medicaid award letter, etc)
Over 18 yrs. old household members- picture id
Will be issued a HMIS service point card, will need to be brought back on recurring visits with bill that has current address. 
SNAP Outreach  
"Healthy Food for Healthy Families"
Helpings SNAP Outreach is the largest provider in McLennan County of personalized enrollment assistance for state/federal programs. Clients are guided through the application process with one-on-one assistance by an in-take counselor who can set up the applicants with an online account or help apply with a paper application. Clients can apply for SNAP, Medicaid for Children and Seniors, Children Health Insurance Program (CHIP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), and the Medicare savings Program.
